|Sebastian Heinzel (CEO, Heinzel Sales)|
After studying economics and political science in Vienna and Madrid Sebastian Heinzel (born in 1977) pursued a career in journalism, reporting from all over the world for Austrian and German news media ("profil", "DIE ZEIT", "Spiegel Online"). From 2006 to 2008 he lived in New York City where he became an internet entrepreneur and launched the online travel startup tripwolf.com. He successfully sold tripwolf, a leading provider of travel guide apps for smartphones, to a renowned German publisher in 2013.
In 2014 he joined Heinzel Group and soon took a management position at Heinzel Sales (Wilfried Heinzel AG), the Group’s worldwide sales network representing pulp and paper suppliers on all continents. His first mission was to extend Heinzel Sales’ traditional strength in areas such as Eastern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East to Latin America, establishing a firm business presence there. In April 2017 Sebastian was promoted to the position of CEO of Heinzel Sales where he is responsible for the sales of more than 2.5 million tons of pulp and paper and for guiding the future worldwide growth of the sales network.
He holds an Executive MBA degree from INSEAD. Privately, he is a passionate globetrotter who has visited more than 70 countries. He and his wife Alessandra have two sons, Federico and Lorenzo.
